About

Like many of you, I was raised in a home where there were both authoritarian and permissive parenting styles. This, in turn, created in me a very insecure attachment with my parents, the world around me and myself. I spent the last 15 years doing the work to heal and parent myself from insecurity to inner security and have learned and evolved so much in the process. During these years, I also worked as a professional nanny taking care of children all across the globe — getting hands on and intimate experience in the nuances, challenges and triumphs of parenthood.

So by the time I began my own journey in motherhood, I knew very well what didn’t feel good in parenting, but I didn’t always know what to replace it with. I decided to become a parent coach, so that I could connect the dots between what I wanted for my children and what I needed to do to get there.

My certifications as a parent coach with the Jai Institute for Parenting and as a parent educator through Positive Discipline have given me that very clarity, as well as the confidence to know and trust that it all starts with me. This experience has been so moving, healing, and enriching that I knew I needed to share it with others like me.

I started Heart & Honey as an ode to the two best things this journey has given me: an abundance of love and understanding in my heart and appreciation for the sweetness of parenthood.
